Network Mapping

By now you've filled out your three x 3 personal goal sheet. You have your topic wheel and have the beginnings of your content library, let's figure out how you put those together for maximum effect. Remember we talked about having six topics and three people for each of those topics that's three times six, which is 18 I'm asian, so I'm good at math, but even you can determine that that's 18 boxes three boxes times six for each of those three people that you know for those six topics, make sure that one of them is someone that you know, you can create content with, that, you can call them up on Skype, see at Starbucks, meet them in the park and be able to record some one minute videos together. You're going to see later in this course why that's so important. What makes you powerful? It's a personal brand is the consistency between the different topics and the authenticity you have and the things that you care about when we talk about starting with the why a lot of people will say that...

they want to change the world or they believe in their business, that they want to have a better product, where they have better service that doesn't really stand authentically think about the topics that you have expertise and where you actually want to make an impact to help other people when you have your topic wheel tied to people that truly have a cause because they believe in helping other people stage two diabetes or they believe in coaching their son's soccer team or they believe in playing golf because they like to travel to Scotland and get stuck in holes in the sand, whatever it might be. Those are stories that resonate with missions that resonate with other people and as you start to put those together, you're going to see patterns and who you want to connect with and what you want to be able to talk about. So when building your topic well, you can go from the inside out or you can go from the outside in, what does that mean from the inside out? You're starting from topics, things that you care about and finding people that have authority in those areas and have knowledge. Or you can start with people that you know, friends of yours, what do they know? And does that resonate with something that you care about? Right. So either way you're going to be building your topic wheel from the outside, which is the tire into the hub or from the hub, which is you all the way out. If you're not quite sure how to break down a particular topic, then you can use tools like google where you can say, what are the best things to do in Athens Greece, right. Maybe I care about, I'm gonna be in Greece in a few days or who was the best basketball player of all time or what are the most common struggles in pulling people's teeth. If your orthodontist maybe or or a dentist, there's all kinds of topics and you can go to court to look. One of my favorite tools is answered the public. You type that in for example, here's one on facebook ads and I can see what are the most common questions people have about facebook ads. And so you can use these questions. You can use Google's type ahead search results to figure out what it is that people are really asking for so that as you build your topic well, you know that it's going to resonate because you know in advance what people are asking about now start to build your topic wheel and we'll do a deep dive together.
