Your 45-Minute Social Media Workflow

We're gonna get into a 45-minute media workflow. I don't want us working harder, I want us working smarter. And I think sometimes when I tell people that there's such a thing as a 45-minute workflow people are like you're crazy, I don't believe you. Now, before we start draw a clear line of distinction because there's this temptation to spin in circles and say I'm so busy, I'm so busy all the time, I'm on social media doing all the things. Now, I have to make sure and let you know that busyness is not the same as running a business. This happens so much on social media. Because I have conversations, people are like, Jasmine I am just on social media for like three hours a day and it's all for business, Scout's honor. And I'm like hmm, how often do we get distracted? We start off with good intentions and all of a sudden we go down this rabbit hole where you know you were there for business and then what it turned into was busyness. So, number one is that we have to make the commitment i...

s if we're gonna say we're gonna work 45 minutes on our business we're gonna break that up into two very distinct categories. Number one, business growth and number two, personal. Don't get convoluted because then you tell yourself a false narrative. It takes so much time. What is really taking the time? The business building? Or are you surfing the web loving those cat memes? Okay, so now what we're gonna say is now that we know there's a difference, what we're going to do is use a 45 minutes specifically for business and we're not gonna tell ourselves a different story. And I also, please note, that for the thousandth time, you will hear me say, this is about consistency, strategy and the long game. Because the patterns that you start today won't become a pattern for the next 30 to 60 days if you do it every single day. And once you start doing it every single day it becomes engrained in your workflow so that it doesn't feel like work it feels like part of what it is and what it takes to run your business. So I'm gonna walk you through my process right about now. Part of what makes this system work is because we systematize it according to the templates. So I know that I can get this down. Now, yesterday I mentioned there's five stages of being a curator. I am uh, this sounds weird, I feel like I'm advanced so I know what I'm doing. So I will look at our Social Curator prompts and look at it as a prompt and then I run in my own direction. So I'm using them, the templates, as a way, cause my brain is fried as anybody else's, I use the old templates that we've created, go back to them, make them my own. So, I'm using this as a framework. I encourage people to use as little or as much of this to incite the inspiration that you need. And the minute I created this systematized project I felt like all the frustration I felt for not having time then became, this is my dedicated time, I did the best I can with what I have in this space. So, what we're gonna do is understand that the templates are really great to drive social conversations. But the templates don't tell you how to talk about your own business. Because the only person who can talk about your business better than anybody else is you. So, when we go into planning content, I have frameworking and then I have stuff that I need to specifically speak about my business. So keep paying special attention as to how we start using that. So, I set aside, this is what I normally do, this is my normal, regular pattern. Is I set a time aside every single week to create my plan for the week. And when I do that I realize that I can't skip the planning part and then expect to execute 45 minutes each day. It's the planning part that empowers me to stay in the 45 minutes a day. So I can't skip this part. So this is the one thing you must do every single week and that's to plan your content for the week. You don't need to shoot it all. You just need to know where you're going for the weeks that you don't get up in weeks. Now, I usually do my planning on Sundays, Sunday nights. We go to church, we spend time with the family, we hang out, we relax and when I get home I just lay out, what am I planning for the week? Now, what am I planning for the week? I have regular photo shoots that myself and my husband will do. I also, when we shoot for Social Curator, I'll shoot live-self, self-imagery for myself. I do not use the Social Curator photos because those are for the people who pay for them and I don't want people lifting photos from my account and have other people pay for them. That's just real talk, right? So, when we're out and are doing our shoots I shoot a separate segment for me so now you know that I have lifestyle self-imagery the same way that our members have lifestyle self-imagery in their own accounts. So I plan out what I'm gonna do for the week and I usually spend about 45 minutes on a Sunday doing this. Sometimes when JD's driving, our parents, our families are in L.A., we live in Orange County, I'll bring out my laptop. Fire it out, close it. We go home. We chill for the rest of the night. So, I post six days a week on Instagram and Facebook. I will rotate taking either a Saturday or a Sunday off. Just laying this out for you, time wise. Now, I post once a day on Instagram and I post twice a day, for most days, on Facebook. I also post on Twitter and I also post on YouTube but I'm not gonna focus that on our social media flow. I'm just gonna focus on the two, if you had to pick two platforms to really build out for and pay for, it's gonna be Facebook and Instagram. Now, the one question I want you to ask yourself, far before we move forward on this, how many times are you gonna post in a week? Like what's your goal? Even scribble down in your notes because how we reverse engineer, how we get to where you wanna go is knowing what are your expectations and your goals. I am telling you, I post six times a week on Instagram and I post around 10 times a week on Facebook. So what then do I need to do? I need to think of six Instagram posts and 10 Facebook posts as part of my weekly 45-minute planning session. Cool? Now, step one of this plan that takes me 45 minutes, is I select three Social Curator photos that I'll use for the week and assigning one to each day. I have six Instagram posts for the week. I select three lifestyle stock imagery. You will pick how many times a week you wanna post on Instagram and you're gonna pick which of those photos that you would like to put in that. And that takes me about five minutes. Step number two. I complete three Social Curator captions, personalizing with the responses by filling the blanks, assigning one to each day, each corresponding to the lifestyle stock imagery. Five minutes, I pick three lifestyle photos. 10 minutes, I come in, my captions, I read them, I'm firing through. Sometimes I fill in the blanks and just tweak out a few things. And before people are like wait, wait, wait what if we all say the same thing? We've had challenges on the inside of the group and we all use the same templates every single day. And we put in them, into a feed, and we see how are they all different. And people are like, how did all of this come from that one? Because we're all different and we all make small tweaks. And a lot of our audiences don't even cross over. So, this is how I streamline it really quickly. Step number three, choose one business-related photo and write a caption. Now, here's some suggestions: What your business does, a review of your most popular product or service and assigning it to one day of the week. I have three caption templates I customized and I just choose one of these. I talked about a business-related photo, about what my business does. I empower entrepreneurs to show up on social media every single day to build a brand to market their business. I say that at least once a week on Instagram. A review. I go through and I write testimonials on Instagram stories. Sometimes I'll turn that story into a post. I just follow this pattern. You will see this again and again and again. And that takes me about 10 minutes. Step number four, choose another business-related photo and write a caption. Suggestions: customer review or testimonial, unique uses of what you sell. So people will say Jasmine sells lifestyle stock photography for Instagram but then I see our members using it on keynotes, using it on podcasts, using it on headers, using it on newsletters, using it for advertisements, using it for business cards. My objective is on social to show a unique way that somebody else is using our product or service. You're job on social is to show a unique way that somebody might not just be using their portrait photography for one thing, but oh, they're seeing it for something else. And then I assign this to one day of the week and this takes me about 10 minutes. Now, you will notice that the post that I'm writing specifically about my business, I'm assigning, will take me a little bit longer cause I'm not working from the framework of a template. Last step, and that's step five, choose a business-related photo and write a caption. Here are other suggestions: team introduction, packaging details, behind-the-scenes, a tutorial or how-to and then I assign it to each day of the week. What you just saw me do is break down three lifestyle photography photos using Social Curator captions to framework and three photos about my business but all not hey, buy what I'm selling. We've done tutorials, we've done behind-the-scenes, we've done unique, I've done team introductions. All of these things every single week, rinse and repeat. Now, the first you do this, it might not take you 45 minutes. I get that. But it's just like riding a bike. The more you do it, the faster you get. You literally train and ingrain your brain. So, now that you've seen what I do on one day out of the week and how I plan everything else, now I have to plan it in a planner. Later, Plan, Planoly. And then schedule them in Facebook. Now, I don't have to go through and do that automatically. I just have to write: Monday this Instagram post will be on Thursday Facebook post. I just take a little note of it. And I'm old-school, I still love writing on paper. People do it in Notes, in Trello, in Asana. Whatever works for you. Now, now that I have everything already outlined and now I have my plan for the week, my big objective, engagement. Where I will spend the majority of my time on social in the middle of the week is engagement. I would venture the guess that any of you in the past three days have probably gotten a DM from me in response between four-thirty in the morning and five in the morning. Anybody here can testify? One, two, three, four. Okay, all right. All right. So, I work, this is part of my workflow. I know that people are like, what the heck, Stacey, I sent you a voice memo at four forty-five on Sunday morning. I'm like girl, I'm about to get on a flight. See ya, I'll see ya there, don't worry. It's part of what I do. And people are like what do you doing? I'm working. And this is part of my flow. This isn't for everybody but it's part of the time that I have locked in. So, now let's work at... Now, I have my 45-minute plan for the week on Sunday. This is what I do every single day. Because my posts are already be done, it takes me one minute to post it to Facebook. And let's take a little bit of a brief second, I will plan my post in Facebook, but to the best of my ability I'll go through and in and post it automatically. So I'll schedule it, let's say 4 p.m. on Thursday and then I'll have a calendar notification to pop up and remind me that I should post it automatically on my push-to-click. Why? I've noticed and this is all I type up, is that I've noticed that when I schedule my posts on Facebook, they don't perform as well as when I actually go in and post in real time. I know that's just like extra but I'm like, listen, I'll take whatever for your gain and engagement I can take. So, just a note. It takes one post (mumbles) a minute to post on Instagram and a minute to post on Facebook. Why? I already planned for it at the beginning of the week. And then I respond to direct messages, 10 minutes on Instagram, 10 minutes on Facebook. If for some reason I don't have any Facebook messages I double down on responding on DMs or sending DMs, whatever the day holds for me. I respond to comments. I get more comments on Instagram then I do on Facebook and I go through about 10 minutes each day. Five minutes on Facebook. And then I spend about five minutes leaving comments on other Instagram posts. And then I spend five minutes leaving comments on other Facebook posts or in a Facebook group if I'm not getting the engagement that I want on my page. This is 45 minutes of action each day. And you're getting the things that you want to get done. Are there days that you're gonna respond to every DM? Maybe, maybe not. Are there days that you're gonna respond to a litany of questions on the inside of a Facebook group? Maybe, maybe not. But the questions then becomes, can you commit to 45 minutes? Because it's so easy to like, it's gonna take me three hours, I'm just not gonna do anything at all. Forty five minutes has a big impact. So now that we say, okay it is possible, it is something that I do on the regular. I have to tell you that I resist and I refuse to get distracted. People are like, it's impossible for you to respond to those many DMs in that short amount of time. And I'm like, I do it every day. Because it's like, everything goes off for that 10 minutes. (mumbles) And I already have, like I mentioned, opt-ins related to the top five most-frequently asked questions. So now I just send them back a link, which gives them a detailed response to the questions that they're asking. Sometimes, I'll just send a voice memo. Yesterday, so many people were DMing as we're going through this live class. I'm like, it's impossible. I would just take like a little boomerang, send it back to them, like. You fire through those really fast. When you set your mind to something and you tell yourself you can do it, it works. So, I do not get distracted and I encourage you to do the same. And as a quick reminder, every day is different. There are times where I hustle and I put out two Facebook posts in a day and they get like one comment each. I'm not spending 10 minutes on Facebook responding to one comment, right? Takes me 20 seconds to respond to a comment. So, what do I do then? I go into the Social Curator Facebook group and I use the excess time to be in that group or I go an engage on Instagram. Your days look different, where you wanna grow your tribe looks different and remember, you must give what you want to get. You have no comments, go and give 10 comments. If you have an extra 10 minutes, go and leave 10 extra comments. This legitimately works. We're seeing people in the chatroom, we're seeing people DMing being like, Oh my god, Jasmine I left 10 comments and somebody sent me a DM and they wanna set up a meeting. And I'm like, I know! That's how it works. I'm not lying. So resist the temptation, plan it out, work in it every single day and this is finally get to the point that we want. Give, give, give, give and give. And this crazy thing, I can't even prove it, maybe it's science or not, is the more I give the more I receive. It's bananas. And this is why I preach to other people. Because it's hard and it takes time. And so few people do it. So when you do it, you stick out.

And incredible class, so meticulously worked out & prepared to make it as legit as any online class can ever be. The amount of work CL team & J* has put into making this workshop is mind blowing. The idea of picking 2 businesses, working on their social platforms for 30 days exactly on the lines of what she has taught here and then presenting the stellar outcomes as proof is just incredible. I guess there is rarely any tutorial out there on the web that has put up such efforts to walk the talk & show that it is doable. And the way J* has laid it out makes this doable by anyone! Jasmine isnt the nerdy type, she knows the rules of game & plays it with heart & wins it like a boss. Am a super fan of her for exactly this reason. However, max content is focused on Insta, and little focus on FB. Her energy is vivacious, you cant doze off while she is talking. She talks like Ferrari on nitro boosters, even when she is giving impromptu suggestions or replying questions on the fly. Thankyou so much CreativeLive for everything you do and Jasmine you da boss! Wrote a lot, but this class deserves. The 1st day's lessons alone are worth the class price. Highly highly recommended.
