Introduction to Workshop

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for joining me, I'm excited to be here and I'm excited to talk about how to turn your Etsy shop into a sales machine. So thanks everybody for tuning in and thank you all for being here today. So, turn your Etsy shop into a sales machine is what I named this entire session. That's the name of the game and that's why we're all here, and why I've asked you to join me. We are going to dismantle top selling Etsy shops and we are going to take them apart to look at all of their working pieces. Then once we have them taken apart we are going to study why that shop is working and then put it together in a way that you'll understand, so that you can build those same changes, those same improvements and enhance your own Etsy storefront. The reason that we're doing that is we want to enhance your Etsy storefront so that you can attract the perfect customers. You want customers that are coming to buy and you want customers that are ideal for your product, that you're...

a good match for your brand, and when they visit your storefront, you want them eager to click and ready to shop. So, I'm going to show you how to use your Etsy shop as a powerful tool, that's what we're going to call it today, Etsy is a tool, to help you grow your online business. And it's most likely out there right now, as you're sitting here with me. I know a lot of people already have an Etsy shop established and if you don't, if you're still in the planning or researching stages, you're in the right place also, because I'm really going to set you up with some learning curves and help you along the way. So I know a lot of people when they're researching their Etsy shop like as much information as possible to make that launch as successful as possible, and I have that here for your today, as well. But, most of us, the majority of us tuning in, already have an Etsy shop and we are worried about, we get stuck, we get into ruts, we have to weather slow seasons, it's actually the hardest part of the job. And the question we're asking ourselves today is your Etsy shop is out there, is it doing it's job? So it has a job to do and is it attracting the right visitors? When the right visitors come is it getting them into the shop? Is it making them eager to browse, hungry to click, that's what I like to call it, delicious photography, and delicious storefront will leave buyers hungry to click and ready to shop around. And if they're doing that, if they're visiting, if they're browsing and they're shopping around, is the Etsy shop converting them to actual customers? Is it bringing you sales? It should be doing all of that. That is your Etsy storefront's number one job and because we all start out on Etsy, and it's sort of our entry way to business, and it's sort of, I call it the gateway to entrepreneurship 'cause that's what it was for me, it turns into a hang out, and I don't know about you, but once I started my Etsy shop I would go visit my own storefront and just stare at it, and just gaze at it, and I loved it so much, and so I spent a lot of time there, and it turned into a hang out. I used to talk in the forums all the time. I used to make treasuries and just spend a lot of time there, and as I was hanging out there so much and it became more of a hangout then a work spot, I forgot what it was supposed to be doing for me. And I'm sure a lot of you can relate. I'm sure a lot of you use Etsy as more of a hangout, a place where you go to be around like-minded creatives, but that storefront has a job. Moreover, your perspective becomes too close. This is a creative business, this is a personal business, we're passionate about what we do, and I always like to say that creatives can't see past the tip of their nose when they're building online businesses because everything is so personal. So it's hard to tell on your own what is not working or what is working. It's hard to see that because you really can't see past the vantage point of your own nose. So it's helpful to look at other people's shops and what's working. It's helpful to look at what's not working on other people's shops and then translate that to your own.

The course was really practical and organized very well. Each day built on the previous day and had solid, actionable recommendations. I am just starting my Etsy shop and feel like I have a plan for moving forward with some confidence. Lisa is charming and very real and her enthusiasm for supporting businesses is engaging and very encouraging. She wants us to be part of the tribe and I appreciate that! Thanks Lisa and everyone at Creative Live for more great "Mini B-school" lessons that I can use for my online business.

Thank you thank you thank you! I have been going about the "daily scramble" for years - with ups and downs along the way and this course has been a true eye opener for me. The message of consistency and brand cohesion as well as deep respect for my customers will surely stay with me and help my business continue to grow. No matter what stage you are at in your creative business, Lisa has something great to teach! Highly recommended!

This class was amazing!! The first day covered changing your Etsy storefront. This was my favorite day, as it talked about product photography in a very basic, replicable way. The best part was that it was all DIY. I have been told for so long to sub out photography to a professional, but this class is all about investing in yourself. It is so empowering to know how to do these things YOURSELF. We then spent the afternoon talking about SEO tips and tweaks. I can't wait to implement these in my own shop. I fee like this information is not clear anywhere online. The marketing aspect was great, and is about exposing your vulnerability and connecting with an audience. Lastly, you learn a SYSTEM that you can replicate time and time again. It goes through the entire calendar year. The cherry on-top was the last day-- advertising. I can't wait to try out advertising once I have the first two areas complete. This course is not gimmicky in any way, and teaches you a very honest approach to connect with potential customers. Awesome instructor-- to the point and thoughtful.
