Action - Place an Order for 2-3 Product Samples

In this video, you're going to be placing an order for 2-3 product samples. And before we get into this task, I want to talk about something really important and that is focus. And at this point in the game, one of the biggest mistakes we c students make is they don't have enough focus when they're ordering their product samples. And by that, I mean they don't just focus on one product, But instead they try to import two or more products at once. And the thinking behind this is just in case my first product doesn't work out. I want to order a second product to double my chances of success. And I understand the reasoning behind this, but since this is the first time you're importing the product and selling it on amazon, it is extremely important that you just focus on one product. So in case you're a visual learner. Let me show you what I mean by this, what we're going to be doing in this video is ordering two or three product samples from two or three different suppliers, but it's crit...

ical that you're only focusing on one product And you're ordering that same product from two or 3 different suppliers. And our only goal at this point of the game is to compare the quality of that one product between those two or three suppliers. So we can find the best supplier for you to place an order from. And for example, you don't want to order the double dog leash from one supplier or to the same double dog leash from a second supplier and then order a running dog leash that you put around your waist from a third supplier. What that would do is that would split your focus and attention from one product to two completely different products. And as you get more comfortable with amazon FB A, you may do this in the future where you focus on two or more products at once. But since this is your first product, it's absolutely essential that you're just going to be putting all of your energy on one product. And by now you've already done all of the product research so you can be confident that that one product is going to make sales and it's going to be successful. There's no need for you to hedge your bets by focusing on two products at the same time and all that's gonna do is lower your chances of success and increase your feeling of overwhelm as you go through the rest of this course. So now you're gonna be placing your order for two or 3 product samples. Now I'm going to show you the process of ordering one sample from one supplier and this is the same process that you're going to be following to order two or three different product samples. So I started off by going to Alibaba chat and I asked my supplier if we can communicate using WhatsApp and I much prefer WhatsApp and it turned out that my supplier liked WhatsApp as well. So what I'm going to be showing you is our conversation of me placing an order for a product sample on WhatsApp on my phone. And before we get to this, I want to show you a pdf resource that I think you're going to find valuable at this point. If you open up your resource packet and click on # five, you'll find our communication cheat sheet. And this is text that you can use when you're ordering your product sample. Now you can copy and paste this into your messages with your supplier or just take the main ideas from this and rewrite them as you order your sample. So now I'm going to open up what's app on my phone and show you my conversation with my supplier to get my supplier on WhatsApp. I sent my supplier on Alibaba chat, my WhatsApp phone number and they reached out to me and I said hi Peyton, I would like to order a sample of a normal double dog leash. Please ensure the product sample is the best quality and it's really important that we add that. Please ensure the product sample is the best quality And that comes from an earlier video where Eric Rodney explained the three levels of quality. You want to be making sure you're getting the best quality possible. My supplier responded by saying, okay, we're going to ship by DHL. That takes 3-5 days to get to the USA, what is your shipment address. So I said that sounds good. Here's my address and after my address I put my phone number now that's optional. You don't have to do that. But I wanted to give my supplier as much information that they might need as possible. Then I asked what is the total cost for the sample And you always want to ask including shipping because with those sample fees the shipping is usually pretty high and that's to be expected. So my supplier said the sample fee is $40 and shipping is $30. So $70 may sound like a lot for your sample but it's worth it and your suppliers not doing this to make money off you at this point, you're both just seeing if you're fit for each other. So then they said well send you Paypal invoice. What's your email and all the Paypal invoice is is it's a request for payment. That means my supplier is going to email me a request to pay them $70 using paypal. I gave my supplier my Paypal email address and then I asked will it be refunded for the sample After I placed an order. Now most suppliers will refund your sample costs if you end up placing a full order with them. So you always want to ask this just to make sure. So my supplier said we'll have accounting sent envoys. Please pay and they are going to refund my $40 sample cost but not the shipping cost. So if I like the quality of this supplier sample, They're gonna refund me $40. If I place a full order. Which is a pretty good deal. Here's what I received in my email. My supplier sent me a pro former invoice which is just their receipt for me ordering the sample And then they also sent me a link to pay them the $70 using paypal. So you're gonna want to keep these documents as receipts and they're gonna come in handy when it's time for you to do taxes later on in the future. So that's it. It really is that simple and I know these documents can look complicated and it's a language you don't understand but there's not much to this. I mean it's very similar to placing an order on any website. And what's great is now that you've placed your first order for a product sample. You don't have to be scared of this process of ordering from a supplier. And the process of placing your full product order. When let's say you want to order 50 of these double dog leash is is going to be the same process that you just did in ordering this single product sample. So pause this video now and go order two or 3 product samples In this video. You place an order for two or 3 product samples in the next video, we're gonna review everything that you did inside of this mini goal.
