Action - Find Out If Our Products Are Not Patented

in this video, we're going to do a deeper check to make sure that our products are not patented. The first product we're gonna be taking a look at is the double dog leash and to get started. We're gonna want to open up an internet browser and then we're going to search for google patents and we'll take a look here. Now, one thing to note is this is a great way to search for patents and see if this product is patented or not, but to be 100% sure you would need to talk directly with the patent lawyer. But whether or not you should do this really depends on the product and the situation because there might be products that are obviously not patented and you're fine to go ahead and pursue that product or if you're unsure about whether a product is patented or not. And if you've done your research and you're still unsure, then you should talk to a patent lawyer before investing thousands of dollars in inventory. So to get started, we're gonna search for the double dog leash here. We have a ...

list of patents that might be relevant to the product that we're thinking about and what I usually do is click on a patent that seems relevant. And I start by looking at the images and that way, I don't waste any time reading the patent until I know whether or not this might be the product that we're thinking about importing. So if I look at these images, I can tell that this patent doesn't affect the type of leash that we're after. So I'm going to look at a different one and this is not what we're after. So I'm gonna keep looking and that's not the same as the image that we saw in Alibaba. So I'm gonna keep looking if I look at the images and I find that the patent looks similar to the product. I'm thinking about importing, then I'll take the time to read through the abstract definition of the patent and also read the claims to make sure that the patent doesn't protect the product that we're thinking about selling for the sake of this video. I'm not gonna show myself walking through every single one of these patents because as you can imagine, it will take a while. But I've done some research earlier and determined that this product, the double dog leash is not patented. So I'm gonna check yes. Now the next product is the acrylic stapler and I know that a stapler is not patented. So the only thing that could be patented is the acrylic stapler. After looking through these patents, I don't think that's the case at all. So I think we're okay with the acrylic stapler. And I'm gonna say yes, it's not patented. And finally, the last one is the Belly cast camp. I was doing some research for the belly casket earlier and I found a patent that came close that I want to show you and it was this pregnancy sculpture patent, I was always taking a deeper look into this patent. I realize the belly cast kit that we're thinking about selling is not protected by the patent. And I determined that by reading this background of the invention where it said belly cast is a mold made of multiple casting strips typically used for casting a broken limb or body part. The casting strips are dipped in water one x one and then shaped around a mother's torso during pregnancy. And then I saw that the invention here in this patent is a new method and kit for creating a pregnancy sculpture where casting strips are not used, but rather one piece of fabric. So we want to make sure that we talked to our suppliers and that they're supplying casting strips and they're not supplying the one piece of fabric, which seems to be protected by this patent. But I'm pretty sure that all the suppliers from china do do the casting strips, but we would want to communicate with them to make sure. So I'm gonna say yes, the product is not patented in this video. We found out if our products were patented or not in the next video, we're going to determine what the revenue per review or RPR is for each of our products, pause this video now and don't move on until you found out if your products are not patented
