Frame Tool

now the next tool down here just looks like a rectangle with an X in it. And that's who was known as the frame tool. And it is useful when you want to create templates. Let me close off this image and let's say I want to create a brand new fresh image and maybe I want to create some sort of a brochure. So I'm gonna go up here and say, I want to print size and I'm gonna do a letter size paper. I'll do horizontal right now in here. I want to put maybe five or six or 10 images, but I'm not sure which images yet. I do want to design the layout, though, and then when I'm talking with a client, will quickly populate it with images. So I'm gonna go over there and click on the frame tool. Then I'll click and drag here to define a frame, which is just simply a rectangle. Then I can use the tool again to define another one and just continue to do that, to lay out exactly how I want photographs to eventually appear within this. And maybe I have one image that's going to span the with down here an...

d then some or at the bottom Once I get my layout. Now, if I ever want to populate this with images and do it very quickly, then all I'm going to do is go to Bridge and Enbridge. I'm gonna move the bridge window down so I can see this document same time, and I'm going to navigate to a series of images that I might want to use to populate this. So here I have some images I used in previous lesson, and all I'm going to do is click on an image in bridge and drag it onto one of these boxes. It automatically crops the image, and then I can simply drag to reposition it. You see a kind of bluish rectangle that represents the actual dimensions of the image. So I can tell it extends down this direction. Then I can return to bridge, and I'll choose another image that I'm just gonna drag on top of another box. And if I continue going back to bridge each time, I can very quickly populate each one of these boxes to get my layout finished. If it needs to be adjusted, I can just click and drag to movement around, but it automatically scales the image to make sure that one of the dimensions match is usually the heights. In this case. And let's see here I have a nice wide image, so dragging on with wide box in. Therefore you could create layouts that might include text in other elements and then later on, come in here and populate them with various images and that is known as the frame tool in your tools pound.

I am an avid reader of photoshop books, and an avid watcher of photoshop tutorials. I have attended (internet) several hundred of presentations. In the course of this endeavor, I have found my own favorite photoshop websites and instructors. Creative Live is probably the bargain out there as well as among the top three internet course sites. I have to say with great enthusiasm that the best Photoshop instructor is Ben Willmore. There are many great ones, but truly, he is the best I have come across, and, as indicated above, I have watched literally 100s of tutorials on Photoshop. I have seen all of Ben's courses, I think, and among them, this one is the best by far, and that is saying a lot, because that makes this course the best course on Photoshop to be found anywhere. I am going back and watching it twice. Not only is it comprehensive, but Ben is so familiar with his subject that he is able to explain it like no other. This is crème de la crème of Photoshop classes. I have been wanting to write this review for some time because I have been so thoroughly impressed with everything about this class!

Wow. I cannot communicate the value of this course!! The true value in this course is how the instructor identifies workflows you'll need before you'll ever realize it, repeats important information without it becoming annoying, and explains the "why" behind the techniques so well that even if you forget the exact method, you can figure it out via the principles learned. Excellent value, excellent material, excellent instructor!!!
