Detlef Schrempf

German-born, charismatic, and over 6ft. 10in. tall, Detlef joined Coldstream to help develop strategic relationships and build the business one family at a time. Prior to joining the team, Detlef served as a General Partner at Athlon Ventures, a private equity fund he co-founded in 1999 which invested in venture capital, real estate and other unique opportunities. Detlef was responsible for fund raising, deal flow, strategic partnerships, and marketing. In 1995, he and his wife Mari founded the Detlef Schrempf Foundation to support Northwest children and their families and have helped raise more than $15 million for worthy efforts. Before beginning his career in finance, Detlef studied International Business at the University of Washington, where he also ignited an All-American basketball career. Playing nearly 16 years in the NBA, Detlef made his mark on the game as a three time NBA All-Star and participant in the 1984 and 1992 Olympics. Detlef returned to the court during from 2006 to 2007 when he served as an assistant coach to the Seattle Sonics.

Detlef spends his time away from the office with Mari and their two sons. In addition to his work with the Detlef Schrempf Foundation, Detlef is a founding board member of the Seafood Nutrition Partnership and lends his serves to the local community whenever he can.
