all right, Last big section and the customer. You here is K for some general utility things, things that we're not going to get into in a very frequent basis. Occasionally, if the sensor has problems, if there's, ah, hot pixel or something like that on it on, you may notice that, and you could send it through a pixel mapping system. I've never needed to do this with an Olympus camera, but if you occasionally have a dead pixel or a hot pixel that isn't reading right, you could have it do this mapping system, and it's gonna check out where there might be problems. And it will try to do its best to either work around the problem or fix that particular problem. A good chance that you'll never need this at all. Exposure shift. If you wanted to tweak the exposure a little bit, you wanted to make your photos a little bit brighter or a little bit darker. Depending on which metering system you were using, you can tweet him if you felt like you know every time I shoot with center weighted meteri...

ng, it's always a little dark. Well, you could come here and you could brighten it up a little bit. How quickly do you get warned about a low battery symbol? Most people probably don't need to worry about this, but if you do wanna have that warning turned on sooner, or if you want it turned on Onley later, you can adjust it here. If the level adjustments were not quite right, you could go in and you could reset them if they're if you set them to what they say is level. But you realize that's not really level. You can reset that if necessary. Camera has a touchscreen, and if you don't like using it, this is where you can turn it off. One of the options is using an eye fi card, which is related to WiFi. It allows you to shoot photos out in the field, come back home and have them wirelessly sent to your computer automatically. And it's a neat little feature. But not too many people are using the WiFi system or the I fi system, and so you probably don't need to worry about this. It's just probably why I think it's great out unless you happen to have an eye fi card in there. There are a few lenses that you can get and they end in E z Elektronik zoom. And so, if you are shooting video, you can use the Elektronik, zoom to more smoothly zoom from wide to telephoto or back. And not too many people are using this. They'll just manually zoom back and forth. But you can set the electronic zoom's speed from low to normal toe high. If you do use that particular feature. Oh, folks, do we really have to talk about selfie assist? All right. And I am actually going to recommend on on for selfie assist here. And so when you flip that screen around, it flips the image that you can more easily see yourself. And so this is something that will probably make it a little bit easier to frame your subject up. If you are wanting to do a selfie, please do have some discretion on yourself, East folks. Okay, quick sleep mode. How quickly do you want your camera to go to sleep? And this is once again that compromise between convenience and battery life. And so this is how quickly the camera is gonna power down when not in live you. So if you just have the super control panel on the back of the camera, how quickly does your camera go to sleep? And you can kind of set that up in here. Generally, it goes to sleep a little too quick. In my mind, I tend to be a person who will turn the camera on, use it as I need to for as long as I'm generally using the camera. And then when I put it back in the camera bag or I'm not going to shoot photos for a bit, I'll turn the camera off because the mirror less cameras do use a fair bit more battery power. And so you have to be a little bit more conscious about letting your camera either power down. We're turning it off manually. I prefer to just simply turn it off manually. So if you want to add on additional lenses, say with an adapter, you can add on these additional lenses, and you can add metadata to them so that you get that metadata built into the files that you create. Either the J. Paige or the Rug files as part of the metadata and so If you have one of these crazy lenses, you can actually type that into the system of the camera and have that added as part of the metadata. When you put that camera on or put that lens on. Now, if you do have a collection of these manual lenses, you're gonna need to go back into the camera and tell it I have a new lens on the camera and this is the lens that I have, and then that information will be added to the metadata.

Awesome course and thorough description of the PEN-F capabilities and functions. HOWEVER, John's "big boy camera" bias comes through when he describes some of the creative functions as "just fun". I highly disagree- because like other tools and features- it depends on HOW the photographer uses the tool or feature. Like HDR, the creative features can be used tastefully or look "overcooked". Film photographers who use a variety of different films in film cameras- is this "just fun", or do they offer creative options? I encourage John and any listeners to look up the Olympus Visionaries and many other professionals using Olympus cameras in their daily work to see the amazing results they create with them. Instead of the same old Nikon and Canon "muscle-flexing" biases- lets look at what the pros produce with the camera tools. All modern cameras are superb and capable of great results. And this PEN-F camera offers groundbreaking control over the image making IN CAMERA at the time of exposure- which can be used to adjust an accompanying RAW file if needed. Not everyone wants to sit in front of a computer for hours doing post processing.

The Pen 5 is an amazing camera - however it is capable of so much that getting to know it can be somewhat overwhelming at first. John systematically and logically works through every part of the camera in really clear and easy to understand steps, quickly converting my initial apprehension into confidence and excitement for the endless possibilities of this camera.
