Sunset Lake Demo
let's look at this basic transition from a daytime to evening sunset. Look on this one, the initial overall light. The exposure is brought down and the highlights are brought down, and then a warm color tone is added in the color panel. And then after that there's five selective edits that are added to give the tone on the top and a little more definition. Let me show you how that's done on this. Edit. The light and color have already been applied. You can see that you can see the exposure has been taken down in the highlights and on the color. The warm color tone has been applied. So now I'd like to add some selective edit to just increase the contrast and make it a little more dramatic. I'm going to click on the plus sign. I'm going to add a linear gradient and I'm gonna click and drag and try to keep it straight. I'm a dark in the sky a little bit. It's a little crooked, but that's all right. I'm going to bring the exposure down again. I'm trying to darken the sky pit and I might br...
ing the highlights down just a hair now. I think that's good. I'm going to add another one from the bottom so click and drag this time coming from the bottom and try to keep it straight. Oh my gosh, Forget that one. Let's redo it. Delete plus gradient click and drag it is hard sometimes with your thumb on your phone to keep these things straight good enough for government work. All right. I'm going to do another reduced exposure and bring the highlights down just a bit. I'm going to Brighton sky where the sun would be. So I'm gonna click on radio gradient and click and drag and make a little gradient. I think I'm gonna pull that up just a hair and again, I'm gonna lighten that. Maybe do exposure and pull the highlights now, that's a little extreme. So I'm gonna pull it out, that's kind of fun and maybe bring the exposure down just a hair. Now I think the water, the reflection is going to need a little more light to, so I'm going to do another one plus click and drag with the radio gradient and I'm just gonna lighten the highlights here on the water, see that. And in fact, I think I'm gonna pull that down just a bit and move it now. I think I'd like to do one more thing which is to have the rocks a little more evident in the foreground. So I'm gonna use paintbrush and on the paintbrush, I want to make sure the brush is not too big. So I'm going to bring the feathering down a bit and then click on size and make it small. We're gonna go over how to use these tools in another lesson. And then I'm just gonna click and paint over the rocks a little bit and then I'm gonna go to the highlights on the light panel and maybe even the exposure. Just a hair. I'm going to click OK to this and then remember click on the image and long hold and you can see the original. Yeah, I think that looks pretty decent and not bad for just a couple minutes work.
