And so how did you guys communicate mostly? I mean, what was that like? So we communicated online. Okay. So we chatted a lot. (both laughing) So you know what? Does he know you're showing this out here? So I was going back over, 'cause you know, you can communicate over email, the best thing to do is communicate in person. Sure. Obviously. But also, we were using Slack, and I was able to chat him, screenshots back and forth. I think what's funny about looking at this conversation is there are moments where he's so excited or I'm so excited. Like, look at this font! Or you know, he finally put it live, and the logo is live! And he sends me a link, and it's just like, that's why it's better to collaborate, 'cause you can feed off of other people's excitement, and it just gets you even more motivated, and once he saw how much better the new one looked over the old, he was like, just always right there. Like let's do this. So we, if I was working with any other client, and it...

was a paid case, it would be more formal than this, obviously, it would be a series of emails, and in the subject line of the emails, I'd clearly indicate, version one, version two, because behind the scenes, the client is probably paying by the version, but working casually with a colleague, you know, I think down the line, he was like, hey, any photograph of mine that you want, just feel free, so I have a list. He doesn't know that yet. (laughing) But I did not forget that part, you know? Remember when you said, yeah. Yeah, barter's a great thing. It is a great thing. His photographs are amazing, so I'm really excited to cash in on that. So yeah, from start to finish, how long did this process take you? A week. Wow. Yeah, but I mean, we really communicated with clarity and honestly. And he had sort of a very thought out, thought through how he was gonna use the logo, basically what he wanted-- This is what I want. Yeah, what he wants. So that, I mean, that helps a lot, and I think that that's where, if this was a paid situation, so much money would go into just you guys coming up to speed with each other. Yep. And this, you know, obviously, he saved a lot of money with you. Yeah, and what helped is he had already had a logo before he came to me, so it was kind of like, he was able to say, eh, it's not really working, it doesn't feel right. But this generally the look and feel and the story that I wanted to tell. Yeah.

I want to thank Matthew for a great insight into designing a logo. I am not an artist, have no creative experience in the digital or marketing or banding world, and because of this class, I actually designed a logo! I want to open a small kids art studio for classes in my neighborhood and I was looking to design my own logo to use in a Wordpress site and small scale branding/marketing and some building signage, and thanks to Matthew's easy and sensible approach to design, i was able to it. I def. recommend this class.

Loved all the prep work info and how that translates into a great logo design. The class was easy to follow, the instructor answered some great questions, and it was a great overview of how to create a logo.

Great intro to logo design. Matthew outlined some great steps to take to kick off my logo creation process. I think I'll be able to save a lot of time and money working with a pro for final design as I'll be able to come to them with a more clear idea of what I'm looking for.
