Dr. B's 9 Dress Difficulties

We're gonna be actually working on dress difficulties and examining what they are and what they mean. You'll see on the right there, that's the cover of my book. I go into a lot more detail about the nine dress difficulties, but for this show today, we're just gonna be kind of going over the basics. Really, it's so you can decide, are you dealing with any of these? There are usually more than one that you're kinda grappling with. I came up with these working with women and men quite a bit in retail and just kinda doing my own styling work with clients on the side. These are the nine that we'll go through in a little bit. We all have behaviors that we examine and as I've talked to you before, for some reason we discount these behaviors and we don't examine them, we don't look at the internal triggers for them. But I think it's important to examine what they might mean. In this section, I really go into a little more detail about some common ones I've seen and then looking at the interna...

l piece for them. Really, we're trying to change the external so that we ultimately change the internal. I've always talked about using the external as a costume to get you where you wanna go internally. If you're not wearing the right costume, if the costume's not working for you and it's causing problems for you, then you can imagine what it might be doing internally, so we're gonna look at the impact of that. I just also wanna give you kind of the primary piece of any of this work, that if these issues are not causing problems, don't change them. You can keep them the way they are. We can look at something in a fashion perspective and say that something's off, something's not right. But when we look at it from more of a psychological perspective, if the person is happy wearing what they're wearing, I keep that the way it is. It's only when there are issues, or when a person feels that they can do even more in the internal, that we make a change.

Loved it! Incredible class, so interesting and filled with new concepts, I am a big fan of the author and I admire her for the way she suggests us to analyse things with curiosity and looking "bellow the water", rather than judgement. Thank you so much for this wonderful class Dr. Baumgartner.

It's about how you dress, but really, it's about how to use the way you dress as a lens to better understand yourself. Packed with useful information and tips, highly recommend! Thanks Jenny!
