Pose 6: Woman On Ground

okay so for sitting on the ground I wanna have you lie on your stomach I had I had a grammar crisis today she lying on the ground or laying on the ground see grammar crisis it was trying to figure this out and it was stressing me out so I wrote woman on ground I was really upset about it I was really good at grammar but apparently not that good at changing light okay so the basic pose is that she's on her stomach with her hands in front what you khun totally work in a million different ways depending on who your subject is so I'm going to pretend you're high school senior girl or let's go for like a little girl okay so perfect all right so can you kick your feet up behind you and presuming a little kid's not wearing heels I'm guessing okay um let me advance the next flight so you can let me give you an idea here you know so here is a little girl handler face both hands to her face she was kicked up okay this would be maybe a portrait laying on a couch wrestling but let's imagine that i...

t's boudoir okay let's imagine cheese and lodged right in this instance maybe we kick this hip up so I gave myself a little more curvy and I pulled this elbow back so I can see your chest a little bit more it's the same pose here all she did was kick her feet up and I'm a different angle here it's straight on beaujoire kick this hip up bring this elbow back but it's just working the same one so I'm actually gonna have to turn your your face a little bit more towards the light perfect show what you don't want to do please don't do this I used to do this without a doubt charity you guys know what I'm doing ah avoid that if you are going to do the little kid you know feet kicked up so instead you can change your angle they don't need to move I can come from here or can rotate towards the light just a little bit your whole body and then bring your hips towards me yeah I fixed it so this could be little kid bare feet kicked up in the background for example all right let's change the audience let's change the subject matter okay let's imagine like I said no heels now can you go ahead and put your hand to your face perfect and now I'm gonna have you bring your elbow back right now she ate her elbow out too far so it's gonna be bigger so I had to tuck it back in also what happens keep your arms way out when people do that you run into the no neck problem because she put her her arms all the way out she has no neck you do have to support themselves in a long gate a little bit so something like that perfect so this could be a pull up just a little bit right there good this would be maybe a high school senior portrait well I'm going to say this delicately as possible I'm not trying to show a lot of chest than a lot of curves but it's still it's cute it's on the ground there's not super a lot of attention to the form more just to like she's killing on the ground okay now let's take it and make it a little bit more boudoir in this case can you put her here to the other side perfect I'm gonna have you put your back our money okay and then probably pull that elbow back to your side perfect then I'm gonna have you put your feet down okay and I'm gonna have you kind of basically you're left hip pop it up and you could do that by meeting on your knee like popular me over so I don't want to do this with a dress on okay cameras don't get me for a second okay ready can you just do something like this like bend that knee yes perfect okay keep bending even more bring it up bring it okay so what she did as she did that is it popped up her bottom basically to give me more curve so for example if this's boudoir on I can shoot narrow depth of field look ahead to the late again good try something and kick that me up even more like bend it let me see yeah good good okay but for example I can do that same shot from here so stay right there good and now you can put your foot back down and keep extending it could put your foot keep going keep going good and I could go from good and I mean it one more just like this so all of it varying my angle different effects let's so I'll give you a break for a minute and I'm going to have our gentleman model come help me thank you all right so that basic pose and like I said if you guys are looking at the presentation that basic poses just they're on their stomach with their hands up but it can be hands together both hands down one hand up oh back to showcase something different so that all makes a difference and then how far up you pop the hips makes the difference

I would just like to say wow, it is the simple things that make it the best! Thank you for having Lindsay do this class. She is easy to follow and makes perfect sense. It is all about working smarter and not harder. I will be buying more of her classes because she explains everything so well. This has been the best class that I have purchased thus far. Thank you Lindsay for sharing your tips and expertise! Even if you "think" you know about posing, you can always learn something new. BUY THIS CLASS!

This is a short, concise class, that is filled with great, basic posing information. It's more for the beginner though and while I did take away some excellent points, I wish I'd put the money towards a more advanced Lindsay Adler class that I could have taken more from. She's one of the best teachers on Creative Live, so go for it if you need some solid advice on posing.
