How to Cull Images

So they will cull your sessions for you. I have friends who sent them 5,000 wedding pictures and they cull them for you. So you can pay them top do that. I don't, I want to do my own culling because I really wanna make sure that I pick the ones that they edit. I just... It's just important to me to know and see what's gonna end up in the gallery. So I definitely do my own culling so, that saves me a little bit of money. And so what I wanna do right now is show you what a full culled session looks like for me. And this is a pretty big one, this is a really big gallery. Okay, so I'm just doing bridge right now and these have been edited by the image salon and what... I'm just gonna (mumbles) make sure they all. You'll notice how giant this gallery is, okay. So when you see that number, you're gonna gasp but when you see them all together you're gonna see why I give it. There are 193 images in this gallery. No shame. There ares some people who are probably on there that are like, "is she ...

crazy, oh my God that is not a real photographer". You guys, my clients love it, they go bananas, they love it. I'm telling their family story. This is a huge part of my brand and my business. It may not work for you, this is what I do, okay. (chuckles) Like I said, I'm not lying about anything I'm putting it all out there. Okay, so I'm gonna go full screen and I'm just kinda kind of... And why I'm showing you this is it's gonna show you what I'm looking for and you'll see that I'm doing that same old routine that I do all the time. I am super blowing, now you're gonna see that on my work. These look like (mumbles) like duplicates (mumbles). And part, I'll be completely honest. Part of the reason why I give big galleries is 'cause I don't wanna spend the time to sit there and be like, "well, do I like this one better or that one?" Just give them all. (chuckles). I just do it. We're digital photographers. My friend, Sandra who is a phone photographer she dies at my strategy because they're so particular about each shot. Then I'm like. "whatever, I'm digital, I can totally do it". This family was my creative live model from my last class. (mumbles) Then outside too. Is she cute? My gosh, the little one. And this is you guys Seattle. This place is like five minutes from my house. (chuckles) We're lucky people around here. So, almost through. So, as you see all of these pictures can you imagine me not giving them all of these? Right, like why would I deprive them of this? Oops there, I went through the whole thing. So, that's a giant gallery, did it feel that giant? Not really, right? I just can't imagine, I just can't imagine being like "well..." And I don't wanna decide what their favorite picture of their little guy is I want them to decide. I don't want them not to decide because of money I want them to look at those and be like "okay, I'm gonna pick which one" and maybe I like this face and maybe dad likes that one a little bit better. So, I am gonna give them to them. I'm gonna give them all of the ones that spoke to me all the ones that meet my bench marks, my rules I'm gonna give them to them, alright.

is super knowledgable, yet down-to-earth and relatable. I love how he explains the exact gear he uses but also describes ways to accomplish the same look using DIY and less expensive alternatives. The segment where he demos a live shoot in multiple, difficult lighting situations is worth the cost of the class alone! Bonus: He's super funny. He could probably double as a comedian on the side, but I digress. This class was informative, funny, and very practical for any photographer that wants to increase their profit and expand their business into the professional world. He gives all his prices and workflows so you can get up and running in 2 days! :) Awesome class overall, and it's a great sequel to his professional headshot class (which I also bought and loved.)

I am totally in tears watching this, and think that every person going into Photography should watch these. She is a great teacher, and helps us to understand our "why" so much better. I also LOVE that she helps one feel confident with the non-perfect, (or so called) shots, Thank you so much for giving me more confidence to shot what I love and not worry about "rules!!". Best class I've taken I will recommend her to every group I am in!!!

Elena is a great presenter. Delivers information in a very fun and engaging way. This course would be good for a beginner photographer. She shares the basics, but unfortunately doesn't quite provide advice on the more tricky questions. She shares a lot about her current state of business (10 years in and making enough profit to afford hiring staff). This is great to know what to aim for, however, it would be more beneficial to hear more about HOW to get to this stage. The main idea that I took from this course is: outsource as many processes as you can. Elena doesn't have a very distinctive style (no offence, but there is a huge competition in the style and editing that she works with), I would love to hear her advice on how to win in such high competition, how to convince clients to choose you and pay higher price tag for an equal quality of work. This is a fairly inexpensive class, so I would recommend it to the beginners, but not to the more experienced photographers.
