Menu Functions: My Menu

All right, folks, we have gotten to the best menu of all. And that's my menu. This is your menu. This is where you get to program the camera to have exactly the features you want in the menu. Uh, that are going to show up when you press the menu button. Now, in order to do this, you need to go into the set up menu and program the camera. So let's do that right now. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna go into the menu system, and we're gonna go down to the set up men, you and we're gonna go Teoh user settings, and we're going to go into my menu setting, and we're going to set up mine. I don't have anything in there right now, and we're gonna add items. All right, So let's add items that we think we might want. I'm gonna go with image quality and say That's good. Got a check by that one. Let's see, what else do I like? White balance is important. I'm gonna do that one. What else do we have? I'll skip over some of these select custom setting Might be nice. Now what I can also do is I'm ...

just in the image quality tip. I can come down to the auto focus area at in focus area. Let's add in focus check. Come down to the camera setting every once in a while. I like to change the shutter type in there. And some of these modes, for instance, the set up mode doesn't have a lot of options in here. But if we wanted to come in and Flash will add channel setting in here now, I have all these modes in here, which is great. And so I'm going to hit back to get here. And now I can rank the items all right and less so let's say shutter type is really important. I want that up here at number two White balance. I don't change that much. And I move it down here, focus areas pretty important. I'll actually move it up here. And so now it's all organized the way that I like it there. And so then I'm gonna hit back to back out of there And, you know, maybe maybe I don't need channel settings in here, so I'm going to remove channel settings and I'm going to remove that one. So there. Now, I have six items in there. I'm gonna back out of there, And now when I come down to my menu here on my items here, and so if I was to go someplace else in the camera, let's just say right here. Press the shutter release. Go back to shooting now I hit the menu button. It goes back to my menu and the items that I think are most important. So if you want to get to a few items really quickly, you have the Q menu for the quick menu. But you also have my menu within the menu system. And so I encourage you to set that up. You getting think you get about eight items in there? Not sure if you get a second page or not, you might be able to get a second page of them in there and you get the items in there. And when you hit the menu, you're just going and you're not diving through menus trying to find where certain things are. You get what's important that quicks, quick access and you won't be stuck looking around for things. And so I think it's a great system, encourage you to set it up

I've been with CL for quite a while and I pretty much got used to (all of) John's top quality classes. Kinda been waiting for this one over the last months. So thanks again, John, for your consistent 5 star quality standard!!

I loved this class! How much did I love this class? I loved this class and I don't even have an X-T3! I have the Fujifilm X100V, a camera similar enough to the X-T3 that this class easily covered 85% - 90% of the features on my camera. It's also a camera new enough that there isn't much available on how to use it. This class got the job done for me. Well done, John!
