Accepting "On-Site" Payments

we're going to start to dive in. And this is where we're gonna start to get a lot more, A lot more We can do okay, a lot more creativity, a lot more content to be auto work with. But also, it's gonna be a lot more on your shoulders. That's gonna be kind of the idea here, but we're gonna make it easy on you were going to use a plug in called Wu commerce, which is actually really awesome. And I love it, and it's one of the few out there. There's actually a bunch of solutions that we can use out there. This is going to be making it so you can do outside payments, which essentially means that there is going to be typically a shopping cart of some kind, some kind of carte system where people can can see multiple products and choose which ones they want toe. You want to add the cart, they can go through and even create an account. There's emailing, there's taxation, they're shipping. There's all the different kind of things that when we looked at Pay Pal in the previous section that really w...

ere there. But we're a little bit cursory. So we're going to dive into this, and I just want to show you quickly this site. We looked at this in the very beginning of the course, but I want to jump back here. If you want to go out there, it's live now. It's called Wu Calmer. Stop Brian would training dot com, and it's It's simple. I am not a designer. I know good design, and every non designer has to say that. But what I did was I put the car together and you can make it look the way you want it to. OK, if you go to the site, you'll see that there's a shop link up in the upper right corner. And if I go to the shop itself, I have several products out here. And the great thing about this, this plug in about well, commerce and others out there is it gives you an actual shopping cart system so we can go in and do things like set up products and groups and categorize and organize and make it the way we want to. And this is definitely not going to be for those of us that may be just want to sell one product. Okay, if you want to sell one product PayPal, Amazon might be fine. But if you do want to sell one product and you do want to do more with it, you need taxation, union shipping. You need all these different things. Hey, baby, this might work for you. So if you look at the categories are here, If I click on an object, let's say I want a coffee mug. I want to see them school down. You'll see that it has all kinds of things that we, I guess, take for granted. When we go to a shopping cart or go to some place to buy something, they have, like sorting or filtering. Okay, so I could sort by different features. We have the actual products listed here, and you'll see that instead of just pay, it is saying, add to cart, so it's definitely a little bit further along. So if I click on the coffee mug here the coffee cup brother and school down, you'll see that it takes us. It feels, I guess it's Seymour, like an actual shopping system where we can go in and see the product you can see descriptions and I got a vast. I was a little lazy. I didn't put a description for every product. The T shirt was like the main product I did that for, but I put bare bones information in here. You'll see that I created or generated categories so we can actually search for this stuff. Make it easier. There's product descriptions, and this is, I think, honestly, one of the big things that it seems really simple but is huge with this kind of thing. Cross cells. So there's Cross sells enough cells with this plug in that we can go in and just say, Hey, if you're buying X wanted to take a look at this. That kind of matches nicely, you know? I mean, if you're buying a coffee cup, why not buy coffee beans to go with it? You know that kind of thing. It's silly, but you see the related products we could see information and reviews. This is pretty great because there are reviews built in here. It's a star system. People can raid it and people can search based on reviews, which is, I think, phenomenal. Then we go in and add to cart, do our thing. It's gonna add it to an actual system card system. And when we go to check out, you'll see on the right. Now I set it up this way, and we can set it up just about any way we want. But you'll see in this sidebar I put the card over there and you'll see Check out So I'll click on check out. You'll notice that in the in the past section, when we were talking about this, we would right now be actually going over the papal Amazon. Whatever happened to be? But we are now on site. So we're selling on site a za card as a system here and you'll see up top that it even says, Are you returning? You want to log in? This is all part of it. This makes it so that people can have user name password. They can have an account, and if they've purchased from you before, they could go look at past purchases and do all kinds of great stuff so we can log in there. We have coupon codes, We have discounts, we have sales. We have all the stuff we can do, which is good if you need it. I guess building all the information collected, you'll see the order down here. But I love about this is that it's actually giving us things like the taxation in the shipping and a lot of options for that. But it's right here is all done. It's all kind of part of it, and this is one of the best parts. Check this out. So you're going to see that these are the default methods that we have for collecting payment. Using woke the World Commerce plug in. There's a lot more if you want to use your own service. If you want to use stripe. If you want to use square up. If you want to call anything out there, a lot of them Amazon, etcetera. We can actually add them to this this plug in, but going to see they have a direct bank transfer, which I don't know, I don't know. A lot of us are gonna be using something like that, but it's option and offered. We have cheque payment and this one, to be perfectly honest, they have it in there, and it says send a check lot of us don't do this over a lot over the Internet, you know, just because how do you know that was going to send a check? But honestly, if you look at the woud description, they say that this was put in there for testing, so you can go through the entire process. And it just says, Okay, send us to check, but you contest the entire process. So it's cool. PayPal, Of course. You go through a newspaper, Al and we have a credit card payment you could see right here. And some of these, like the credit card payments. Something you have to add. I'll talk about that. But there are a lot of other methods. So if I choose check and I say place order, I kind of do. Its thing is shopping cart system thing. And of course I filled nothing out, so it's not gonna work, but you get the idea. You guys know how to fill out your name and stuff, but it's gonna go through the entire process and get it done. OK, Now, this is one game in town. Will commerce and I wanted to start up by showing you what it's doing here and how it works, but I want to show you a couple other options out there. Another option that you can use. Uh, it's sort of similar to woo commerce that offers a lot of opportunity for things like shopping carts, etcetera. One is called Shopify, and this is interesting because it does integrate with WordPress. You can integrate it there. It's kind of a bigger one. It's it's got a decent market share. But the idea behind this one is that you you would either use. It's sort of like a papal where you set it up and Shopify your your actual products and they give you a little bit code and you put it on your page. But this one also lets you sort of embed, and if you take a look, this is an example Here. It lets you embed your cart, if you will, in your weapon your WordPress website. But a lot of this stuff is hosted with Shopify, so you can see like this an example card here. Now the car. You can choose products, see what it looks like, added the card. Go through the process. It all looks like it's done on your site, but it's going to use the Shopify system to get it done in the back end. This is another example you're gonna see. There's like OS commerce is another one. I'm just gonna show you a few examples here because woo commerce is not the only game in town. And these air not direct apples to apples. Okay, Not necessarily. Some have more features. Some unless there's magenta. Um, I've only used this one time you said quite simply, but you can go in and do that. Some of these air paid some of these air free. Have to look at that. This is the connection or the WordPress plug in for integration with WordPress. For magenta. It's another one. And of course, the one we're gonna use is called Wu Commerce. Now I know that there are other options out there, and I haven't mentioned all of them. There's a 1,000, out there, but those are some of the big ones

I appreciate all of the knowledge that Brian offers. He has a wealth of knowledge, however he tends to "jump around" while speaking on a topic. For example, during the PayPal section, he spends more time speaking about other sites instead of just delivering the content. This made it a bit harder for me to follow along. I actually became frustrated. Overall, the course is useful but in the future, I recommend that he look at the topics and ensure that he sticks to the information we actually need.
