Power Of Color

Let's go to number six the power of colour. So research reveals that people based between 62 and 90% of their assessment on color alone. Whoa. Institute for Color Research. So, colour is a huge thing. For example, those three websites I showed you the beginning of this webinar. A lot of our um first impression was based on the colors they used and all different kinds of brands use colors to their advantage to try to showcase what, what they want. Their brand values to be with color quick quiz for you. So we're pretty good at color were so good at color in fact, but oftentimes color tells us what something is before we see the name. For example, what drink is this? Get Pepsi Yeah, how about this 1? What drink is this Sprite? So these are the colors that these brands using a lot of times. I did this at South by southwest and the whole room was able to accurately very quickly guess what these drinks were. And that is because our colour perception are faster than are reading perception. So...

we will often look at the color of a brand before we look at the actual name on the can harder one. This is a hard one. What drink is this? You can get it. It's fanta. So let's talk about all the different colors. And I have these. Also on my website we have a colour psychology article. So blue loyalty, stability. Red is the most passionate aggressive color. Yellow, happiness, optimistic, youthful, green is crisp, healing success. Black is the most formal and powerful colour. A kind of easy way to remember. This is um blue is the color of the sky. So it's very dependable. We like to see blue. Yellow is the color of the sun. So we like to see a happy sun is bright, it means a good day is coming. Red is the color that we get when we are angry or when were turned on we flush we blush. That is why I read signifies that green is healing or hope as in spring. So a lot of these colors are kind of program for what happens in nature. And typically the colors that are higher energy red, yellow and orange have uh, their wavelength is different than the cooler colors like blue and green and gray and yellow, orange and red or higher energy colors. So if you have a higher energy grand, a kind of peppy spunky brand, you want to be wearing a red shirt or yellow shirt or have red or yellow or orange. Whereas you have kind of a cooler easier brand. You can use a lot of the cooler colors like blue and green and purple. She was an ex set purple royalty spirituality luxury because purple's was a very hard die to get. So we still associate purple with sort of a luxurious color. It's very feminine. Also brown, stability, nature, reliable, natural orange, energy, fun warmth, white, Pure innocent clean. That's what are doctors and nurses wear? Gray, neutral, practical, quiet in my color post on my website, which is totally free. I explain some of the interesting studies around these colors and how they're used most frequently. So you can just take some screenshots of these or download the pdf that I have for them so that you can see how you want to incorporate them in your clothing in your head. Shot, what color tie do you have a color shirt? Do you have? What color is your purse or scarf as well as the colors that you use on your website. So here's your takeaway for this section, eliminate off brand colors if you have a brand that is incredibly formal and professional and you want to use colors like black, which is formal and powerful gray, which is neutral and blue, which is loyal and dependable. It would be weird if you had pink or read as a professional brand because those are very uh romantic or purple. For example, it's kind of a luxurious color. A sumptuous color would be off brand would be confusing people and that would trigger red flags for them, confusing colours, purposeless colors and add on brad color on brand colors, colors in your photos and videos and be intentional with your color use.
