Mobile Photography Q and A

I was just going to confirm that that would be just in IPhone area, not something that Android would have access to using ITunes for No, no, I tunes. The nice thing is, remember, ITunes is available on Windows, so it works exactly the same way. What I just did, Every single thing. Since this is just a regular USB cable, you would need the the Lightning cable that came with your phone or 30 pit. But you plug it into your PC, go into ITunes. It works exactly the same. So it's not Mac specific. Excellent. Yeah, thank you. Questions? Yes. Um, is there something like dynamic light for Android? Um well, one. You can see both Photoshopped Express and Snap Seed, which air for Android. You can pull out a ridiculous amount of tonal range, so I don't think dynamic Light is bringing in any more range than those. But since its only purpose in life is tone and color mapping, that's why it's kind of cool. It's just one stop shop, and it's very, very quick. I don't know of an android based app that do...

es that specific tone mapping that that's a good question that would probably a Google search to find out. That's Android. That similar to that? If it's not available, I would think that they would be if they don't have an android out, that they will. Because those people I'm gonna bet dollars to donuts that they're the same people who have the code that's built into all the Olympus cameras. So there are company that does some amazing stuff in terms of tone mapping. So I would hope that would be coming soon to the android. Also, a couple of people had questions about that face tuning at the picture of your daughter that you worked on. Yes, it would be possible to cover the APS that we talked about this segment and just sort of run through. Just list on for people that didn't catch them. Sure, sure. And actually, I'm gonna pull up since they specifically about beauty. APS come over here and we'll load one just because this one, if you have an interest in that one, I'll just bring this one up. I know you didn't ask that. That'll teach you to ask questions. Um, and we'll just use again my daughter. She'll never know that I did this one. You won't tell her. And, uh So, um, we can like that one here and then it actually, you can see it's actually choosing. It's gonna add Speculate highlights to the file. Actually, you can see there's actually speculum highlights. I'm gonna drag goes off because I don't like that, but it allows you to choose a general flavor for it. You can come in here with the eyes and fine tune different things related to eyes to make up to all sorts of things. So but answer question the ones that we did hear that was beauty Booth. We did after focus down here on the central bottom. We did touch retouch. That's the one on the lower left hand corner is actually called touch retouch, not just retouch. We did more interview. That was our antique black and white app that we love so much coming over here. I didn't get a chance to dio I photo, but actually, it's not even gonna let me in IOS eight. That's where you can create entire websites. The one thing that I didn't mention that I have a link to it here and that is that, um I've got it already set up in safari that when you turn on photo sharing in the camera roll app, you can click on there and you say Share to people. This is a website of a trip to Canada, and this is a U R L with the website generated with all these images that you can again click on and zoom up on and ah, Davis family vacation. And that is simply done by going into your cameras going into an album, even like this one that I just did here. Let's do you know the Olympic Olympus picks we can go into, um, the album's and we're going to go into select add and we're going to I'm having a brain cramp at the very end of the day here, which is new, was gonna happen, Um, major brain cramp of turning on the sharing of the files. Let's go ahead, slacked and output and I cloud sharing and you can come up here and this is going to go with a comment and it can go into a specific shared album. So we've got the Grand Canyon. We can add it into that we can post those to that same album, but going back to this shared albums where we have things like that that canyon and shared. So here's our Grand Canyon. Come up here and say people, So once you have it, you can come over here and say If that is a shared link by turning on public website, there's the U R L for that it is a complete website. Multi paged slide. Show off whatever you want to share. So it goes into a folder that you've shared. And then by turning on this public site, it actually gives you that link that you can email out to people. And if you say that you do want to share that link, you can just simply copy that you are. L is now copied to the clipboard and you can paste it into an email. So that's how you can very quickly made a website. That was one of the things that I wanted. Toe mentions website. Back to any other app that we mentioned here. There's dynamic light. We mentioned hyper laps. Image Blender is a great one for doing multiple shot compositing. I mentioned filmic pro for high quality video average cam and the slow shutter camp here are to ones that are great for doing that. Slower shutter light trails those sorts of effects, including low light, slow shed or night camera. Also to that do great low light situations. Old photo pro in the upper right hand corner is also a nice one. Funky little image in terms of what it is I'm doing. But in terms of doing some really nice and taking effects, it's nice because it has built into it kind of a diffuse glow with it, and you can turn on or off edges. We can turn off those situations so we'll go no edges, thank you very much and again. So it's a nice and taking another woman antique, So those are the main ones we just covered.

Ratings and Reviews

Along with showing a large number of beautiful photographs, Jack Davis provides a useful in-depth review of gadgets to add to or use with your smart phone. He also provides a valuable survey of the most useful smart phone apps. Of necessity, Apple's iPhone 6 is the primary smart phone discussed. Trying to decide whether to buy an iPhone 6 or 6 plus, the video of Jack Davis utilizing the latest apps for photo tone mapping has pushed me to favor the Apple 6 plus.

A very useful, inspiring class! I was prepared to leave after a few hours, but I couldn't because there was so much more that I wanted to learn. Jack Davis' depth of experience makes this a "must" course if you want to learn more about taking stunning photos with your mobile device.

Enjoyed the course. Tons of new apps that will allow my creativity show. The iCloud sharing; where we can have a url is another new feature i learned that i will be using. Filmic pro was mentioned; but would have loved to see Jack demonstrate it. Great course I definitely would recommend it.
