So we are going teo jump right in and talk about it gear we've been shooting with a lot of the gear I have got a gear I didn't get it all at once I've been slowly building up over time of the last twelve and a half years I brought a chunk of it with me obviously couldn't bring all of it with me but you've seen me use a lot so we're just going to step through a lot of the gear that I am mostly using and then after that we're going to talk about digital workflow and ways toe automate your workflow I've had a lot of questions about the program my leo that I've been using since last summer it's been incredibly helpful to me to be able to automate a lot of things in terms of organizing the mass amount of photos I take my son made some comment yesterday that like she's taking so many pictures I can't imagine in ten years how many we'll have or whatever yeah that's actually true but look we have a place tio manage it all from one resource so we'll talk about that as well dear most of this wor...

kshop I have been shooting with the nikon d for this camera is probably the heaviest of all the cameras and I used to before the upgrade was just the nikon d for I used to use most of the one hundred now I go back and forth between the d forests and the d a ten for the purposes of just being able to have easier tethering while here on the program we just selected camera but normally I'm really going back and forth between the night khandi for s and the nikon d a ten and what I have found is that both cameras have different capabilities of both great cameras but the capabilities are different and I would reach for one over the other in different situations most of the time on by step to what that is the other camera I have is a nikon d seven fifty which I initially did not think would be as useful to me as it has been I remember thinking what pretty said I've got two cameras but there are times the nine twenty seven fifty is absolutely the camera choice andi I love to grab it so those are the cameras I'm going to step out a little more detail on dh I've got four lenses shown here andi I have a couple more that I'm going to go through that those were lenses there for a second those are water bottles I've got a couple more I have four lenses right here and I'm like that there should be two more there on the cameras yes about that feeling before where you do your count and you're like a wire there too gone so there's six year and I have another two at home and no again, I've been cheating for twelve and a half years. I have slowly built up over time, the lenses that I have on dyken talk about, you know why I have certain ones I'm a big fan of if you have, if you were working on a budget and you're trying to manage where you spend your money, get a really good camera in terms of the sensitivity to noise having the esso capabilities, you don't have to have the top of the one camera, but get one that gives you a lot of creative freedom with being able to really ratchet up that s o remember in the shoot we did in the pretty much in the darkroom with the couch in the family jumping, I was able to shoot it. I s o thirty two hundred. I'm gonna show you some images today I love them. I mean, amazing the noise control that you could have with action and a darker room with a high eye so that's that would have been pretty if not impossible to do about ten years ago. So cash four years ago, so pretty incredible thie nikon, deforest step through something capabilities that camera it's got an incredible it's a horribly fast camera it's got the burst mode that you guys have heard some of the burst modes we've been playing with you oh yeah, just for the fun of it because it sounds nice those are all raw images being shot, which is pretty crazy when you actually conceptualize that and I'm able then to get you know a child jumping off the couch and have eleven frames or twelve frame under whatever the case might be if not more if it's a longer arc, so to be able to have that kind of flexibility with which capture I want to get, I don't use it that often, but I use it for speed sort of situations and I find it to be very used well, I also use the burst mode andi I haven't heard of a lot of other people doing this, but I use it when I'm shooting macro because when you're shooting a macro scene like a little flower outside or just go with that so little flower outside, you'll kind of sit there set up the scene and if you've ever done a lot of macro work, you'll find that just a tiniest change like a little ripple wind and your whole shot has gone so any time I'm shooting outdoors or I'm shooting a moving object maybe if you if you like photograph little bugs or lizards or something like that doing that burst mode helps you really secure the shot very quickly and not have to do it again and again and again. So that's another great reason to have that, of course, the color tone and the quality of the camera, the sharpness of the files, all that is pretty stunning, the d a ten is a lot more lightweight physically feels lighter on dh it's got much larger file sizes, so whereas the raw file might come out at a twenty meg or twenty meg or so with deforest, I'm going to get about a thirty five meg or even larger with the d a ten, based on how I'm shooting and what's filling the frame. Um, obviously from shooting a color or black and white in terms of what I process it later, I choose to shoot everything in color, but that's going to affect on the files as well. When I'm shooting with the d a ten. What I love about it is when I'm in wilder situations, which we've done in the last couple days. I did it all, like I said, with before us, simply for the ease of being able to tether and manage it on dh happened one camera, but I would normally be grabbing the d a ten if I'm in a situation where I cannot control the composition at all but I really want a great shot and I may even trim that image down to three quarters of its original size half of its original size and I'd still be able to take the remaining file and do a thirty by forty print with no problem because there's so much information there and that's something that is that I have heard people be concerned about the file size is like that's a lot of data storage that'll loop into our second part of our section, but for me I'd rather invest in additional storage or find storage solutions and be able to shoot with larger file size makes sense uh feel free to tell me if it doesn't and the d seven fifty one of the things that I love about this I'm shooting I'm looking from this angle one of these I love about the d seven fifty is the lsd air lsd different segment um the lcd sing along with that because I enjoy shooting in the being about shooting the live mode and then put it wherever you want and be able to see what's happening certainly when you're holding the camera away from your face to be able to hold it here on dh see exactly what's happening, no matter what angle your act, you could put it on the ground and do some cool shooting and not have to be our king over and trying to fall over and I've done a lot with commercial shooting where I'll just hold it over thing where I would normally get on a ladder I just hold it over and use it that way so I remember thinking when this first came out this well I don't know what that would do for me on apparently describe for me quite like it and it's also fast I got some really beautiful file's coming out of it I like that one too so the three of them of the three immunity for us and a ten practically interchangeably but based on situation on dh then the d seven fifty four more of those creative angles and shots any questions about gear as it relates to the cameras before I move overto lenses they're all full frame they're all full frame yeah and and I shot with cameras that are not full freight what I find is that you can just kind of for me I would just take a step back and then have a similar I know a lot of people get thrown off by that cop censor the full frame I just remembered kind of just adjusting where shooting from when I was shooting with two cameras that one wasn't one wasn't so but it is nice of course with very wide shots in tighter rooms tohave the full frame that is a nice capability.
