Posing vs. Directing

You guys ready? All right, here we go. Nice, I love that. That looks so great. Indy, lean into her just a little bit more. There you go. Not too much. Come back out a little bit. There you go, good. Can you lean against her arm more, Indy? Come this way. There you go. Yeah, just like that. That's perfect. I love it. Keep it up. Devon, look at me. Now it's nice to pose people in front of your camera, but the real magic happens when you start letting them be themselves. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna start directing my subjects. I'm gonna start directing whoever's in front of my camera. But once I see that they are comfortable in front of the camera, I'm gonna just let them go. I'm gonna start watching what they do and I'm gonna photograph that, because that's where I really get the most beautiful images, because it's natural, it's real. So let's just start looking for moments instead of directing them. Okay, guys. There you go. Just start playing with each other. It's fine. Whatever ...

you do is great. Oh, that's cute. (shutter snaps)
