We can, when we are saving out content, we can save as SVG. I'm gonna talk about that, but let me talk a little bit about working with text, quickly. In the past couple versions, text has gotten better. There's more that we can do. In this class, I showed you most of this already, but I just wanna kinda point it out again. If we create text, either a point type, or area type. Does everybody remember the difference? If you either click and type, or click and drag and type, right? We have this little object right here which allows us to double click and actually... Not that. Double click and convert between the two. So if I have what's called point type, I'm gonna do this with it. If I double click on that little widget right there, I can convert it to area type, and I get a box this time. The other key feature that I love is this one right down here. If you're typing in text and you know that you're gonna have the box, maybe you can have more text in there, or less text, and you wanna c...
ontrol the boxes. There's a lot of times where I'm working in Illustrator, and I've got 50 boxes hanging out, and you wanna kinda wrangle them so they're not too huge. If I come to the bottom there, and double click, it's gonna fit in. So if I come to the text, I'll double click to get the type tool in there. If I keep typing in here, I'm gonna fake it, it's gonna keep expanding the text box for me. So, same thing if I start to actually delete. You're gonna see the box is gonna kinda go up a little bit. It's gonna start to keep matching how much text is in there. So these are two newer features as far as type is concerned. The other one that I just wanted to mention, that has come in a bit. It's been a few versions here, but, if you come up to the top you're gonna see that we can actually work with Typekit fonts. We have Add Fonts From Typekit. We already talked about this in the class. We also have a filter, which we can filter based on Typekit, which is great. So, those two things. Explore, take a look at. They're pretty amazing to be able to work with fonts that are included in your Creative Cloud subscription that you're paying for every month.

I am a pretty computer literate person but an Ai beginner i.e. I am completely new to the Creative Cloud/Adobe Illustrator. (This is also the first time I've used CreativeLive.) I think this course it is fantastic. The pace is good as is the content which progressed logically and covers all the basics you'd hope it would. The course is 2 full days' worth of material but it is broken down into segments so you can revisit or skip through as you need to. The presenter is really personable and easy to watch (even for me, a Londoner!). I would also say I think it is pretty good value for money -- I am currently enrolled on a part time course, basically doing the same sort of stuff, and I have to say this is better and a bit cheaper! I definitely recommend it to you!

A brilliantly designed course. it's almost magic. It's everything you hope for in a follow-along software class. Brian Wood has engineered it so that you start on a project that just needs basics, and then you move on to more & more complicated projects, and almost without realizing it you've learned Illustrator. This doesn't just happen -- Wood has clearly put a LOT of effort into creating this course. Here's one trivial example: he doesn't overload you with a lot of keyboard shortcuts right at the beginning -- you start with the actions themselves, using the (admittedly tedious but easy) pulldown menus, and then after you're comfortable with what you're doing, he'll throw in the shortcut. It may seem obvious, but so many instructors feel they have to give you an extensive foundation of definitions, shortcuts, interfaces, etc., before you ever do anything. Good stuff to know, but you'll never remember it. Wood has you up and working almost immediately. And he's a joy to listen to, at a perfect pace. Highly recommended.

Top course. Very well explained, clear, good examples, pleasant teacher. I like it and recommend it. One suggestion, it would be nice to have a detailed table of content of the course in the material. For instance, it took me quite a while to find back the part of the course where how to make a gear was explained.
